What is Ondanse for?

Making dance festivals findable. Every country has its own booking site and its own Facebook bubble, so a dancer who is travelling — or just curious about a country they have never danced in — has no way to see what exists. Ondanse gathers those scattered listings into one searchable list, map and calendar.

Does Ondanse compete with Facebook events or booking providers?

No — the opposite. Ondanse is an entry point to them. Every listing's job is to send you to the original: the Facebook event, the promoter's page, the booking provider that sells the pass. We take no bookings, issue no tickets, take no commission and show no ads. A festival listed here gets found by dancers who would never have found it otherwise, and those dancers arrive on the festival's own page to book. If Ondanse succeeds, the platforms it reads get more traffic, not less.

Where does the information come from?

Publicly accessible pages: booking providers' public event listings, promoters' own websites, and public Facebook event pages. We only read what anyone can open without an account, and we do not work around logins, paywalls or access controls to get it.

Is Facebook scraped automatically?

No. There is no bot logged into Facebook and no automated crawl of it. When a festival's details live in a Facebook event, a person — the one running this app — opens that public page and pastes its content into an import tool by hand, then reviews the result before it appears. It is slow and manual on purpose.

What does Ondanse keep about a festival?

Its name, dates, city and country, dance styles, line-up as published, and the links back to the source and booking pages — the facts needed to search, sort and map it. Descriptions are kept as the source published them and are always shown with a link to that source.

What do search engines and AI assistants see?

Our own summary, not the source's text. The pages we publish for crawlers describe a festival using only its name, dates, place and dance styles. The original wording stays inside the app, attributed, next to a link to where it came from.

What about my data as a dancer?

You can browse everything without an account. If you sign in, we store only your Facebook user ID, display name and locale, plus whatever the features you use need — the festivals you mark, your favourite DJs, your saved searches. No passwords, no access tokens, no payment details, and nothing sold to anyone.

Does any money change hands?

Not for dancers, and never for a booking. The only money anywhere near this app is a one-off €1 “buy me a coffee” when a promoter or taxi dancer asks to be listed — arranged privately by email and never handled in the app.

Are you a festival, promoter or platform and want something changed?

Email us and it changes. A correction, a better description, a different link, or removal from Ondanse entirely — no argument, no form, no delay. Listings exist to help festivals get found; if one is not wanted, it goes.
